CAP Prize 2023 | Winners Announcement
The five winners of the CAP Prize 2023 – the Contemporary African Photography Prize – in partnership with the Eiger Foundation will be announced in a live stream event from Podestà Photobook Fair in Arles, France. Join us in celebrating African Photography on location or via live stream on Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn.
These 25 shortlisted projects – in alphabetical order by artist– were chosen by a panel of 20 international judges. The shortlist comprises works by: Robin Bernstein, Bright Charles, Kwasi Darko, Yagazie Emezi, Nadia Ettwein, Yassmin Forte, Maheder Haileselassie, Carlos Idun-Tawiah, Jonathan Jasberg, Bontle Juku, Issam Larkat, Mohamed Mahdy, Alisa Martynova, Merji, Obakeng Molepe, Kriss Munsya, Neec Nonso, Emeke Obanor, Léonard Pongo, Inge Prins, Lamees Saleh, Antonia Steyn, Jono Terry, Geremew Tigabu, Anna Verloren van Themaat, Elliott Verdier, and Kyle Weeks.

The CAP Prize is the international Prize for Contemporary African Photography awarded annually since 2012 to five photographers whose works were created on the African continent or which engage with the African diaspora.
The call for the CAP Prize 2023 will open on 7 November 2022. An international panel of judges chose the shortlisted artists.
